This is the ONE and ONLY video that changed my swing. I am 42 and this is the year that I decided to actually learn how to golf. I did a few times as a teen and had a horrible slice. Instructors couldn't help. I quit. I stayed away from golf for 25 years. Avoided it. Hated it. I knew what my ball path was and it was not fun. This year my wife (good golfer) and I (bad) decided to spend more time golfing. I dedicated a lot of time at the range to try and learn. I have watched countless videos. I have learned A LOT. I have corrected a lot. That being said there was some inconsistency until I saw THIS video. This absolutely changed my swing. It changed my contact. It changed my consistency. Without this video, explanation of wrist position and what I am trying to achieve I would not have had success. Many other videos offers techniques to correct on the downswing the issues that were already present. This video highlighted the absolute secret to fixing slices, hitting it straight both driver and irons and making golf so much more enjoyable. Thank you so much!!!!

Great video -- being able to use two distinct versions of the chip shot can only be advantageous. With the chip-and-run, one needs to be clear when an extended roll will be a good thing. Otherwise, the controlled high-flight/short-roll can help "place" the ball as near to the hole as possible. Wonderful video. Thanks Rob!

Excellent drill, thanks for sharing! After having purchased and watched the ST video production put together by Mike Bennett and Andy Plummer, I would also add they discuss in their videos that a critical component of being able to maintain the tilt/spine angle throughout the "time and space of the downswing (or downstroke, can't remember their exact words?)" is the simultaneous sliding (directly towards the target), extending, tilting and turning action. According to them, this action makes it possible to maintain the proper spine angle, as I understand it of course. It helps me greatly to maintain my spine angle when I think about simultaneously sliding, extending, turning and tilting (which I believe you touched on in one of your previous videos). Otherwise, I have a tendency try to get my energy by pushing up from the ground, which produces the obvious results, and is in fact my biggest golf swing nemesis. Anyhow, that's my two cents worth... Thanks for all you do, Rob, I find your videos very helpful!

After decades of poor short putting with stiff wrists I found in practice that by softening the wrists and RELEASING the putter one putts much better. The reason is with stiff wrists every mistake from above changes the blade angle. But RELEASING the wrists mistakes from above are ignored by the blade. The putter blade is on it's own. You start out the practice session making the putts instead on waiting for timing to do it. Timing in practice is your worst enemy. It gives you a false sense of ability.

Thanks. Your instructions have significantly improved my performance and enjoyment of the game of golf. I was looking for this precise instruction regarding the position of the right arm during the forward swing to have the hands arrive off the right thigh as I enter the impact zone-club parallel to the ground to improve impact. Too frequently, my hands have been 3-4 inches behind my right thigh instead of even with it.

Superb! This video s not really about the pressure plate. The plate is a useful tool and that's good. But Rob really explains the difference between weight and pressure very well, and more so, the issue of weight and its influence on CONTACT (and speed/distance). And that is important!

Good instruction, very good advice, with all due respect and i mean that, hogans power begins at the top of his back swing, if you watch closely to all of those old videos you will notice his right hip starts to turn to the left before any thing else, that is the snapping of the whip. Put that together with what you are teaching here and in my opinion you got something. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Very enlightening! I'm not quite clear on why turning your head would give you a longer backswing since the head can be moved independently of the rest of the spine, and through a wider angle. I can turn my shoulders as I want and yet still keep my head facing the ball. I've also read that Jack Nicklaus was left eye dominant and that he was turning his head like that to keep his non-dominant eye from seeing the ball.

On the follow through, when you mention that the right arm should be in line with the grid line, are you consciously using or making your right arm come in like that, or should the left arm pull allow that to occur. I can't seem to get my arms to finish low and to the left. Any suggestions? Thank you!
